FREEMAN, Dave – and his wife, Amy, are months away from completing a three-year, 11,700-mile journey across North America by kayak, canoe, and dogsled. They are using this expedition as a platform for gaining support and protection for North America’s waterways and wild places while actively engaging over 75,000 elementary and middle school students in their journey though www.wildernessclassroom.com. Dave has led three extended canoe expeditions in the Amazon, including a 3,000-mile traverse of South America by canoe. He has also kayaked around Lake Superior and trekked through a variety of other wild places by canoe and dogsled.
